Chart Persistence

What NeoCharts persists automatically via storageKey, and how it's scoped.

There's no manual "save" or "load" action — everything below is persisted automatically and restored the next time the chart mounts with the same key. You just provide a stable, unique key per user (storageKey); the SDK handles storing and rehydrating state against it, on every platform.

What's persisted

  • Selected interval and chart type
  • Per-indicator settings
  • Active indicators list, plus hidden/favorite indicators
  • Saved templates and the default template index
  • Order preferences and default order types
  • Drawings, per symbol
  • Selected chart layout and screen orientation — the two exceptions to storageKey scoping below: both are stored under their own fixed key, shared globally across every symbol and user on the same device/installation, not per-storageKey

Storage key

@override
String get storageKey => 'user_${currentUser.id}';

Use a stable, user-scoped key — changing it starts the user with a blank slate (a new key means new storage). Don't use a value that changes across sessions (e.g. a session token).
